I joined Tinder in February 2021. I'm the first Brazilian Portuguese Language Manager ever hired by the company to be a part of their Localization Team. I was responsible for creating a style guide and establishing a unique tone of voice for the Brazilian audience. I also managed a team of linguists and created original content for Q&A experiences in-app. Besides that, I supported the in-market team and worked closely with project managers from Product, Marketing, Communications, and Content teams.

Tinder Explore is a new section of the app that includes a handful of existing features alongside a new way to meet people. The latter allows users to connect with others based on interests — like Foodies, Gamers, Music Lovers, Social Causes, Entrepreneurs and more. This allows Tinder members to find someone based on what they’re like, rather than just what they look like. I was the one responsible for localizing this page into Brazilian Portuguese, which meant working on copy for headers, buttons, and error messages.

This feature is a periodic themed Q&A event. All users who opt in answer the same set of questions. The questions cover a wide range of topics like pop culture, cooking, dating, and more. When users swipe right on each other, they can check out all their match's answers by scrolling on the “It’s A Match!” screen.
I was responsible for choosing themes for Brazil and creating the Q&As. One of the most successful events we had in Brazil was the Vaccine Edition, which generated good buzz on Twitter. Besides that, I also localized all buttons for this experience.
